With an academic background of the highest order and vast 25 years of clinical experience, Dr Mahesh Thyagarajan brings an unmatched breadth of knowledge in dentistry and a deep commitment to providing evidence based, compassionate care to patients suffering orofacial pain, TMJ pain/dysfunction and sleep disorders.
He completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (University of Mumbai) then pursued a Master of Dental Surgery in Prosthodontics (IP Pavlov University) and Fellowship of the International College of Continuing Dental Education (Singapore). Since developing a strong interest in chronic orofacial pain and sleep disorders, he has undertaken Australia’s highest academic qualifications in these areas, a Master of Science in Pain Management (Orofacial Pain), and the Master of Science in Medicine (Sleep Medicine) from the University of Sydney. He is currently an Oral Medicine Registrar in the specialist DClinDent training program at the University of Western Australia.
Mahesh loves spending quiet time with his family with backyard barbecues and long walks by the ocean. A true explorer at heart, he moved to Australia to pursue his long-held dream of driving long distances in a caravan and exploring the outback in a four-wheel drive. When he isn't engaging in work, you can find him exploring new cuisines, diving into ancient history and mythology, or indulging his keen interest in botany.
